☀Church of the Sun

A Church of the Sun project

Sol Mates

Scott fell in love with Natalie on a blind date. Now he is the matchmaker: no photos, no background, just two people, one table, and a little cupid in the dark.

The matchmaker

Every blind date needs someone who can see in the dark. That is Scott: shaman of the setup, prophet of the pairing, long white hair and all. He reads the answers, trusts the feeling, and points two strangers at the same table.

The name

Sol Mates

Sol plus soulmates, and it sounds exactly right. Chosen November 8, 2026.

Six runners-up stood down gracefully: Sunblind, First Light, Eclipse, Cupid Blindfolded, Blind Faith, and Golden Hour.

Under the Sun

Sol Mates is a Church of the Sun project, from the same hands as the daily Sun mantras and the Soul Circle. The Sun rises every morning; now it makes matches. The goal at the end of it all: a Church of the Sun wedding for the pairs who match. A Sun sealing.

How a match works

  1. Someone applies with a few honest answers. No photo ever goes up.
  2. Scott reads every word and picks the pair himself. He is the matchmaker.
  3. Each side gets a time and a place. That is the whole reveal.
  4. They show up blind and see what the light does.

The dinner version

Some matches skip the two-top entirely. Scott and Natalie host a table of six or eight: everyone blind, Scott holding every secret, Natalie as living proof the trick works.

  • One table, six to eight seats, everyone arrives sight unseen
  • Hosted by Scott and Natalie, somewhere in Heber or Utah County
  • Good food, easy conversation, no profiles in sight

Signing up, and what stays private

The application asks a little and keeps a lot.

  • It asks name, age, what you love, and what you are hoping for
  • Answers go to Scott and Natalie only. Never posted, never sold
  • No public profiles, no swiping, no photos anywhere on the site
  • One text and your answers are gone

The whole pitch is trust

The only algorithm is a man who fell in love blind, with cupid riding shotgun.

First moves

  1. Scott picked the name: Sol Mates. This page is live at solmates.churchofthesun.org, free under the church domain. A standalone domain from Porkbun runs about $11 a year whenever Scott wants one, with him approving the exact amount.
  2. Scott and Natalie tell their blind-date story in their own words.
  3. The first table comes from people they already know and the Sun circle.
  4. The first dinner happens, and the site gets its first story worth telling.

The obvious first match

Steve Hale is already opted in, photographed, and collecting applicants at steveornot.com. The pilot dinner practically seats itself: Steve, sight unseen, across from whoever Scott picks from that inbox. Cupid's first assignment.

Nothing bought or booked yet. Plan made November 4, 2026, from Scott's own telling, revised the same evening with a little more cupid. Named Sol Mates and placed under the Church of the Sun on November 8, when this page went up at solmates.churchofthesun.org.
